Sherrin launches 2022 Toyota AFL Grand Final Ball

Finals fever has Melbourne buzzing for the first time since the pandemic. As the Cats and Swans prepare for the big day, the Sherrin team are equally busy crafting the Official 2022 Toyota AFL Grand Final Game Ball. As soon as the two Grand Final combatants are locked in, the Sherrin team commence the ball making process, customising the ball with Team names, Grand Final date and venue. The 2022 Game Ball returns to the traditional red Sherrin given the daytime slot for the game. The ball is crafted throughout the week and hand delivered to the AFL prior to Game Day ready for the first bounce.

In terms of the big game, Geelong and Sydney have never versed each other in a Grand Final before, so come Saturday, a new rivalry may be born. Ironically, they played in a “Match of the century” 136 years ago before Grand Finals existed to conclude the season.  The only encounter between the two teams this year saw the Swans beat the Cats by 30 points early on. Both teams have gone on to have outstanding seasons and finals campaigns.

There are plenty of storylines amongst the two clubs – can Buddy snare a Premiership with his Swans? Will Gary Rohan get one over his previous side or will it be Tom Hickey that prevails? Does youngster Max Holmes get up despite his Hamstring scare? Is it heartbreak for Swans stalwart Sam Reid who may miss with an adductor strain? Whatever happens, season 2022 has seen footy back to its best with exciting clashes and big crowds.
