AFLW Returns!

The AFLW is back and bigger than EVER! Season 2024 promises to be the biggest yet, with the entire competition aiming to topple the Brisbane Lions after their success last season.

Round 1 promises to deliver, with Sydney hosting Collingwood to open the season, followed by Daisy Pierce’s debut as a coach. The Showdown concludes a super Saturday of footy, with a Grand Final rematch closing the round on Sunday.

Reigning premiers Brisbane are once again predicted to go well, with eight votes from the AFLW Captains Day, finishing only behind last seasons runners up in North Melbourne, who received nine votes.

Last year’s Best and Fairest Winner Monique Conti is once again expected to have a strong year, but faces competition from North’s Jasmine Garner, as well as Ebony Marinoff from Adelaide, as well as Sherrin ambassador and Sydney superstar Chloe Molloy, who’ll be looking to lead her team to the finals for a second successive year.

This season will also see the AFLW launch the score assist smart ball, which in collaboration with Sherrin, Sportable and Intaneous will use sensors to assist with tracking and motion which determine the ball’s exact position on the field, which will allow for real time alerts on if balls have crossed the goal line, hit the post or is touched.
